    Why join us?

There's a huge difference between being just a good stock picker and a good investor. The crucial difference is that whilst the former may look to maximise trading returns, the latter looks to maximise after tax returns.

    Example

Jack invests £10,000 in shares in ABC Ltd. The shares increase by 80% and he makes a capital gain of £8,000. Assuming his annual CGT exemption is otherwise utilised and he has no capital losses he'd pay CGT of £1,440 if he was a basic rate taxpayer. His actual profit is therefore £6,560.

Jill invests £10,000 in XYZ Ltd. This time the shares only increase by 75% and Jill only makes a capital gain of £7,500. However, if Jill's effective rate of CGT is 10% she would pay CGT of £750. Her actual profit is therefore £6,750.

In this case even though Jack's shares perform better than Jill's, Jill still comes away with a higher profit.

Jack may a better stock picker - but Jill is surely the better investor!

This is exactly what this site is about - maximising your net returns from investments in shares, forex, futures, CFD's and options.

Very useful to finally find someone who understands FX tax planning.
